Victoria's Journey

Education

From a young age, I have been fascinated by the arts, particularly drama, theatre, and creative school projects. Although I was initially quite shy, I found the drama studio to be a place of self expression. I loved adopting new personas and channeling these into stories.

Fueled by STEM

Developing skills and understanding in maths and science inspired me to apply this knowledge to a new design research project; exploring the intersection on interior architecture and STEM.

Fueled by STEM

Interior Design

Through embarking on my interior design qualification, I enjoyed developing technically rigorous skills, including AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and Blender. I loved learning how to use cutting-edge tech to present my designs in new ways.

Scientific Collaboration

The opportunity to collaborate with scientists to create designs was an opportunity I could not miss. I applied the technically rigorous design skills I had found to love at an EdTech startup to create interactive STEM learning materials. My role was to translate complex molecular concepts into clear, visual SVG models; a direct application of the storytelling I had begun all those years ago in theatre.

The Future

My theatrical beginnings have carried me through this exciting journey, and my curiosity has enabled me to make new connections in my designs. I advocate that structure sets creativity free. I aim to inspire the next generation, proving that logical thinking and rigorous structure are not constraints, but the very tools that can unleash creative potential. I wish to guide students in a way my younger artistic self would have found invaluable, proving that science and art are not opposites, but two sides of the same brilliant coin.

The Future

Theatre Company

As a starry-eyed drama graduate looking to make an impact on the world, I co-founded Moonbeam Theatre, a multi-sensory theatre company for children with Special Educational Needs during lockdown. Securing Arts Council England funding, we worked closely with schools, adapting workshops to meet individual needs.
